The Mile High Flood District (MHFD) and City staff recently worked with the owners of 4150 Kipling Street to acquire the property. The parcel is located entirely within the Clear Creek Floodplain at the convergence with the Lena Gulch floodplain. Acquiring this property will allow the City to reduce flood risk and protect the floodway’s functionality through future projects. The City and MHFD have no immediate plans for this property, but having ownership on both sides of Kipling Street is critical for implementing any improvements to the floodplain.
