Item No. 1 - Appropriation of One Time Revenues

The City is receiving historic and transformative funding from the federal government to respond to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The City received $2.5 million in 2020, through Jefferson County, from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) and will receive $7.9 million in Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in 2021 and 2022. CARES funding was designed to help respond to the immediate financial impacts of the pandemic while APRA was approved to address the more strategic and long-term needs of communities.
