Item No. 2 - Residential Bulk Plane
In 2016, the City Council adopted Ordinance 1613 which included new zoning regulations in Chapter 26 of the code pertaining to bulk plane. Currently, bulk plane applies only to detached single-unit dwelling in the R-1C and R-3 zone districts. During the 2021 City Council strategic planning session, the potential to adopt such regulations in all residential zoning districts was identified as a priority. The topic was discussed by Council in May 2021, but there was a lack of consensus on how to proceed. The purpose of the May 16, 2022 study session is to discuss bulk plane again and seek direction on a potential ordinance. This memo contains background information as well as new content related to zoning analysis and public input.
This meeting will be conducted as a virtual meeting and in-person in City Council Chambers (7500 W. 29th Avenue) if allowed to meet in person on that date per COVID-19 restrictions. Provide public comment here on Wheat Ridge Speaks until noon on May 16, 2022 by selecting the agenda item on which you want to comment.
