The Colorado Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Act was placed on the ballot as Proposition 118 and passed by voters at the November 2020 election. The new law requires all employers to provide paid family and medical leave to its employees through a state managed program which is funded by employer and employee paycheck with-holdings. Local governments have the option to decline participation in the program. Staff requests Council direction on whether to participate in the program.
