The purpose of this study session agenda item is for City Council to: • Gain an understanding of why housing is so expensive in Wheat Ridge and the growing affordability gaps; • Discuss which target populations should be addressed in the City’s Affordable Housing Strategy; • Gain an understanding of which tools or interventions are available to address housing affordability and the implications of inaction; and • Share preliminary comments about the tools and interventions this strategy should focus on. Attachment 1 is a memo provided by czb which includes more details to support this extended study session. This is the second of three anticipated Council meetings on this project in 2022, with the first having been on May 2, 2022
